The purpose of the fund family interviews is to help you get to know people who are doing the right things to become financially independent. Our goal is that you will find people that will inspire you to do better. Their stories will vary, but all will have something to say that will help you in your own personal journey. Today\u2019s interview is with Kesley and Ryan Bench<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What do you do for fun?<\/strong> \u00a0K: I play soccer and read R: Play sports, listening\/playing music<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Success Tips<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

What has led to your success?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

K<\/strong>:Working hard. But also having people around me who are always supporting me<\/p>\n\n\n\n

R:<\/strong> Having goals that I can achieve on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Advice to people trying to achieve success<\/strong>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

K: Having a goal at what they are trying to achieve, and then working hard to get it done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

R: Know what you want. Not knowing what you want in life makes it hard to truly have success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How do you measure success?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

K: If I accomplished my goals. Or if I gave my all <\/p>\n\n\n\n

R: If you do the best you can and learn as much as you can along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are your success habits?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

K: Always giving it my all <\/p>\n\n\n\n

R: I have a schedule that I try to stick to weekly that I have saved on my phone<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Financial Independence\/Retirement Plans<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

What does financial independence (FI) mean to you?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

K: Being able to have enough income from outside sources that we don\u2019t have to work anymore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

R: I\u2019ll echo what Kesley said and add to spend less than what we make. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do you have plans for financial independence\/retirement?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

K: We don’t have a specific goal in mind, but sooner rather than later. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

R: I don\u2019t have a goal right now<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why do you want to achieve retirement\/financial independence?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

K: Because I want to retire early so I can travel, or spend time with family. Without the stress of working. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

R: So I can pursue other hobbies and develop my talents in woodworking, piano, etc. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you had to start over, what\u2019s the most important thing you would focus on?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

K: I mean I\u2019m pretty young as it is, but I do wish I would have started saving earlier, even when I was in high school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

R: Invested earlier \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do you have a budget? If so, how do you implement it?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

K: I do, my husband and I use the app EveryDollar<\/a> <\/strong>and we stick to it every month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

R: Yes, we\u2019ve done it through trial and error, but now it\u2019s a habit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do you give to charity? Why or why not? If you do, what percent of time\/money do you give?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

K & R: Yes we give %10 of our income to our church<\/p>\n\n\n\n
